GNBCC’s New Year’s Cocktail Sponsored by the Royal Netherlands Embassy

Yesterday evening the new year and new decade was officially opened with GNBCC’s  New Year’s Cocktail at the Ambassador’s Residence, sponsored by the Royal Netherlands Embassy and hosted by Ambassador Mr. Ron Strikker and his wife Mrs. Conny Westgeest. The Cocktail was visited by our GNBCC Members as well as most Dutch Nationals who reside in Ghana. In total, close to 180 people attended and enjoyed the drinks and snacks in the garden.

The evening was opened by a speech of the Ambassador in which he announced that this year King’s Day will be celebrated by the Embassy on the actual King’s Day, Monday the 27th of April, the birthday of King Willem Alexander. He also mentioned that when an application for a business VISA with VFS results in a VFS appointment which is scheduled too late – in comparison with the date of travel and VFS cannot re-schedule, the Embassy (through GNBCC) can assist getting an earlier appointment.

After the Ambassador’s speech, there was a short word of welcome and best wishes of GNBCC’s GM Tjalling Wiarda in Dutch, Ghanaian, and English. Also, he complimented Premium Members Dutch & Co as well as Kwatsons Impex/MaxMart as the first GNBCC Members who have  paid their Membership fees for 2020 after all invoices (aka love letters) have been sent since last week Friday.
