Annual Joint Cocktail Event at the French Ambassador’s Residence

Yesterday our annual joint event with Ghana South Africa’s Chamber GSABC and this year for the 1st time the Ghana French Chamber CCIFG was held at the residence of the French Ambassador. The entrance was at the French Embassy which meant a lot of security checks before our members and guests could enter the premises to first meet GNBCC /GSABC and CCIFG staff behind the tables.

After that you had to walk to the residence which was next to the Embassy through an entrance towards the garden. On the terrace the band was playing and in front of the terrace  in the garden you could meet some of  the sponsors behind the tables who were promoting their products or services and at the same time enjoy a nice cold Heineken – thanks to our sponsor Guinness Ghana. We had catered for more than 1000 kebabs and other chops so that nobody would leave on an empty stomach.

The official opening was done by the French Ambassador H. E. Mrs Anne-Sophie Ave who even spoke some Dutch words of welcome followed by our Dutch Ambassador H.E. Mr Jeroen Verheul who reciprocated and spoke some French words. Also present and welcomed was H. E Mr Thapello Madumane, the deputy South African High Commissioner. At the end of the evening a raffle was held with many prices offered by all the sponsors where our sponsor KLM Air France gave away a return ticket Accra – Amsterdam. One of our lucky Members was very happy to win  a ticket with Air Ivoire, one of the other sponsors.

All in all we had about 150 guests of which one third were GNBCC Members. We do want to thank our sponsors Vivo Energy, Bunge Loders Croklaan, People’s Pension Trust, Dutch & Co, KLM Air France, Guinness Ghana-Heineken and Ntrakwah & Co for their support to this event. Kudos to everyone who sponsored and put this event together.
