GNBCC’s  Business Breakfast for  Premium Members

Last Wednesday, in co-operation with the Royal Netherlands Embassy, GNBCC’s yearly Business Breakfast for our Premium Members was held at our Ambassador’s Residence for the 5th time.  With a turnout of 20 people, the morning started with a joint breakfast.

After a short word of welcome by GNBCC’s Tjalling Wiarda to welcome  our special guest Mr. Yofi Grant, CEO of the GIPC  and our GIPC Premium Member Senior Country Partner Mr. Vish Ashiagbor of PwC,  our Ambassador Mr Jeroen Verheul held an introductionary speech highlighting some of the challenges for foreign investors which were discussed during the last meeting between Government of Ghana and the EU . After that Mr. Ashiagbor spoke about the general economic outlook of Ghana and an analysis of the recent  budget of 2022 including the challenges and the business climate . Subsequently, Mr. Grant spoke in a keynote address where he reflected on the economic development of Ghana especially on foreign investment and business climate in 2020 and 2021. Tjalling Wiarda opened the round of questions with a question about the status of the new GIPC act; the possible changes for Free zone concerning AfCFTA, after him other Members asked a number of questions concerning the current economic developments, inflation, exchange rates, local content laws, VAT etc..

At 10 am the breakfast was closed after which a group picture was taken in front of the entrance of the residence
