Youth in Food Matchmaking event

On Thursday the 12th of January, GNBCC in collaboration with Ghana Food Movement (GFM) organized a matchmaking event for the Youth in Food Programme which is part of the Private Sector Development (PSD) project financed by the Royal Netherlands Embassy (RNE).

The Youth in Food Programme matches eager and motivated graduates with a passion for  food and agriculture space with innovative, growing businesses in food and agriculture.

The program kicked-off with an introduction by Pauline Lingg and Aimee Wallin from GFM. After the welcoming introduction, the businesses had the opportunity to pitch themselves to the candidates. Among the businesses were some of GNBCC’s members such as Bunge Loders Croklaan and East West Seed.

After the business pitches, it was time for the speed dating sessions. During these sessions the businesses got to speak to several of the candidates and vice versa. They also had the opportunity of scoring each other. Next week, all the businesses will be matched to candidates.

The program starts on the 23rd of January and the youth will go through a 3 weeks of skills training and company visits before they start their 5- months traineeships.
