AGM and Cocktail at the Fitzgerald in Accra: A Successful Event for GNBCC Members

Yesterday, the Ghana Netherlands Business and Culture Council (GNBCC) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) followed by a networking  cocktail event at The Fitzgerald in Accra. The AGM, which commenced at 4:20 PM and concluded at 6:20 PM, served as a platform for the Board and Management to be accountable to the GNBCC members for the  pursued policies of 2022 including the audited accounts.

The event was exclusively reserved for GNBCC chamber members, and 30 companies were present in person. To accommodate all interested parties, some participants joined remotely via Zoom, while several companies provided proxies (10) to represent their interests during the proceedings. This blended approach ensured a comprehensive representation of the chamber's membership.

After the handling of last year’s minutes and a thorough question and answer on the audited accounts by GNBCC’s Accounts Manager Akwasi Dampson in presence of our new auditors Morrison & Associates a presentation was made by General Manager, Tjalling Wiarda, to outline the council's strategic plan from 2023-2025. Additionally, the AGM featured an election for the board of directors. Two highly qualified candidates, Mrs. Cecile Norgaard-Deputy Managing Director at  Ocean Network Express (ONE) and  Kwadwo Ntrakwah – Partner at  Ntrakwah & Co, presented their visions and qualifications to the members. All members agreed and voted them in to join the board.

It was a moment of transition as the chairwoman, Mrs. Cindy Noordemeer, gracefully stepped down from her position after four years of dedicated service to the board. Her contributions to the GNBCC were commended, and she received well-deserved appreciation from the attendees.
Amidst the formalities and decisions, the AGM fostered a sense of community among the attendees. Following its successful conclusion, the attendees moved into the garden to a lively cocktail event, allowing them to network and connect on a more informal level.

GNBCC extends its gratitude to all the members who attended the AGM and contributed to the success of the event. We would also like to say a big Thank You to our Board Members and a welcome to our New Board Members and wish us all a promising and successful second half of 2023.
Cheers!!
