Ghana Agrofood International Trade Show 2023

From the 21st to the 23rd of November the Ghana Agrofood International Trade Show took place at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) . GNBCC in cooperation with East West Trade from The Netherlands with support of the Royal Netherlands Embassy set up the Netherlands Orange pavilion at the Trade Show.

A number of 8 companies were showcasing their products at the Pavilion ranging from GNBCC Members IWAD – Integrated Water and Development  (Part of African Tiger Holding Company), Holland Greentech -  training of (smallholder) farmers to improve their business and to make an impact , Solidaridad - redefining cocoa farming, improving livelihoods through crop diversification in Ghana as well as the Horticulture Business Platform (HBP) – a GNBCC embedded start up under coordination of our colleague Barnabas Apom which wants to bring Horticulture business sector, SME’s and smallholder farmers together within one platform where they can meet and network, showcase their products and services and increase – exchange knowledge .

The other participants of the Netherlands Orange Pavilion came from The Netherlands; these were the companies Coroos Conserven BV ( canned vegetables, pulses and fruits), Triferto  BV (fertilzers), Wafi BV (animal feed) and de Pauw Sustainable Resources (Plastics) .

On Thursday morning we organised a seminar within the AICC with the 1st speaker Mrs Inge Tenniglo, the Agricultural Councillor of the Royal Netherlands Embassy who presented on the Embassy’s Agric policy with the focus on horticulture and cocoa. After her MC, Tjalling Wiarda of GNBCC introduced his colleague Barnabas Apom together with Catherine Krobo Edusei from Eden Tree ( who is the Board Chair of the HBP ) to do a presentation on HBP. Thirdly Paul Anartey, Project Manager of the Ghana Food Movement spoke on the Youth in Food project, also a Programme under the Private Sector Development Programme of the GNBCC. The final presenter was Mr Vincent van Reenen , Business Development Coach of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency spoke about their business support programme.

After these presentations, there was an opportunity for questions from the audience which was extensively used. After the seminar ended the audience were invited to visit the Netherlands Orange platform.
