Closing Ceremony of the Dutch Export Academy (DEA)

Last week, on November 28, 2024, we held the closing ceremony of the fifth edition of the DEA. The DEA is part of the Private Sector Development (PSD) Project, implemented by GNBCC, with the primary objective of providing essential training, expertise, coaching, and exposure to Ghanaian entrepreneurs who aim to start exporting or enhance their export potential to the EU, though the Netherlands.

The closing ceremony had two main parts: a roundtable discussion with the program participants and organizers, followed by a cocktail reception and mini exhibition. The roundtable brought together participants from the training in Ghana and the export study, serving as a platform for evaluation. Entrepreneurs shared feedback on their experiences, giving the organizers valuable insights to improve and deliver an even more impactful program next year.

The evening cocktail ceremony, which began at 6:30 PM, started with a mini exhibition of the entrepreneurs’ products. Guests engaged with the participants, discussing their products and making purchases. The program officially began when Project Manager Tracy Abbey Mensah welcomed the attendees, followed by remarks from GNBCC’s General Manager, Tjalling Wiarda, and Julia Appiah, Director of MDF, who shared their reflections on the program and wished the entrepreneurs their best.

They later joined in the certificate presentation to participants. Jemima Rockson, Project Manager at GNBCC, also spoke about the services of GNBCC and shared some insights into her projects - including the GNBCC Diaspora Desk and the Women in Business Project.

Networking and the product exhibition continued as the evening drew to a close. We extend our gratitude to all the guests who attended and congratulations to the fifth cohort of the Dutch Export Academy.
