GNBCC Diaspora Desk Hosts First Breakfast Meeting in Accra

On Friday, February 21, 2025, the GNBCC Diaspora Desk hosted its inaugural Diaspora Breakfast Meeting in Accra, bringing together members of the Dutch-Ghanaian diaspora who are either visiting Ghana, living in the country, or planning to relocate.

The event fostered engaging discussions and provided a unique platform for participants to connect, exchange ideas, and explore opportunities in Ghana. Attendees included entrepreneurs in sectors such as manufacturing and farming, as well as professionals in fields like human resources, international development, and project management.

The meeting featured key addresses from Cherk Klutse of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) and Fatima Alimohamed, a distinguished business leader.

Cherk Klutse elaborated on GIPC’s role in facilitating investments for the diaspora and highlighted available support mechanisms for those looking to establish businesses in Ghana.

Fatima Alimohamed shared valuable insights on the opportunities available for the diaspora in Ghana’s evolving economic landscape.

What’s Next for the Diaspora Desk?

A key takeaway from the discussions was the strong interest in more networking opportunities, business exposure, and oppurtunities to learn from Dutch companies operating in Ghana. Responding to this, the Diaspora Desk is planning:

✅ Regular networking events to foster connections and collaboration

✅ Assistance for diasporans looking to transition into Ghana’s business ecosystem

✅ Industry-specific connections to explore successful Dutch-Ghanaian ventures

This successful first breakfast meeting is just the beginning. We look forward to deepening engagement with the diaspora and co-creating initiatives that support their integration into Ghana’s economic landscape.

Stay tuned for upcoming programs and ways to get involved!
