May has been another eventful month.

We have seen a continued and rapid appreciation of the cedi compared to the USD and the Euro, a reduction in the inflation to 21.2% and the decision of the MPC to maintain the monetary policy rate at 28%. A number of articles dive into the meaning and consequences of the current economic policy.

The GNBCC participated in the 2025 EU-Ghana business forum: president H.E. John Dramani Mahama gave a keynote address during the opening ceremony, a tribute to the importance of the Ghana – EU economic partnership.

From the 26th to the 28th of May, a Dutch trade mission comprising a total of 19 companies arrived in Ghana, accompanied by Mr. Marten Van den Berg, Vice Minister of Agriculture of the Netherlands. A well planned and organized 3 day mission comprising a reception at the Royal Netherlands Embassy, a Farmer Field Day and a matchmaking event with a presentation on the investment climate by the GIPC, yielded very positive impressions on the investment potential in Ghana.
